What is an OA intergroup?

When several groups form, they soon realize that they can better perform certain together rather than separately. So the groups may form an intergroup that is directly responsible to the groups it serves. Intergroups spring from a need to provide service for a number of groups and better information about OA in a community (adapted from OA Handbook for Members, Groups, Intergroups). Our Intergroup is the OA 90 Virtual Intergroup and consists of the 90 day virtual meetings.

Separate ‘Intergroups’ make up ‘Regions’ and then the ‘Regions’ combine to make up the World Service! OA 90 Virtual is part of the Virtual Region of Overeaters Anonymous. Virtual Region consists of all the virtual meetings (telephone, online, and non-real-time meetings).

Our Intergroup meets on the third Thursday of each month. Anyone can attend- there are no rules about this. The normal makeup of the monthly Intergroup meeting consists of Intergroup Representatives from each OA group that belongs to the intergroup when possible, committee chairs, and the Intergroup Board (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Region Delegates and other relevant positions).

Join your OA 90 Day Intergroup Representatives on the 3nd Thursday of the month from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM EST. Contact 90dayvirtualig@gmail.com for the Zoom information.
